AliQuippa follows three generations of Black women in Aliquippa, PA, a former booming steel town just north of Pittsburgh. Isaac, the family's prodigal son, cannot extricate himself from history, and the Lockwood legacy of tragedy repeats itself in the era of Travon Martin and Tamir Rice. While the ghosts of those young men and all the others in recent history walk through the play, the elements of daily life always serve to illustrate something bigger at work that is beyond anything the women can control as they struggle mainly to forgive the world for all the damage it has done to them.

As a part of Michael B. Maine's We Out Here! Festival, I served as copy editor for the website, dramaturg & copy editor for The Mahogany Project's play festival, Transformations, and director of two plays for Transformations: Changing Oil by Dr. Georgia S. McDade and Troubled Waters by Minnie Collins. I also had the wonderful opportunity to read some of my poetry as a part of Dr. McDade's Juneteenth celebration. It was a phenomenal experience working with all of these wonderful Black people creating Black art and celebrating Black lives and Black joy.
Plays and the Juneteenth reading were streamed on the We Out Here website, Facebook Live, and YouTube June 17-20, 2020. The Play portion of the festival culminated with a live panel discussion with the playwrights on Saturday from 6:00-8:00 PM.
